Notes regarding time
Local TimeDescription
The winter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year, and it’s a perfect time to celebrate light, nature, and family. There are lots of fun ways to mark the day with kids!
You can take a nature walk to explore the outdoors, light a candle or lantern to brighten the longest night, cozy up with storytime by candlelight, play with shadows to learn how the sun’s path changes during the year, or create a solstice jar where they write wishes or hopes to open next year.
No matter how you celebrate, the winter solstice is a great way to enjoy the season, have fun together, and welcome the light back!
